Our Expert Educators

Stephanie Bartlett, MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC 
Stephanie is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. While attending West Virginia University she obtained her BSN in 2010 and her MSN in Women’s Health in 2013. Stephanie worked as a labor and delivery nurse prior to working in the outpatient setting as a nurse practitioner in obstetrics and gynecology. She now works with Atlantic Reproductive in Raleigh, NC. With her focus on Women’s Health, Stephanie treats women from adolescents to menopause. She has always had a passion for obstetrics including prenatal and postpartum care. 
Stephanie lives in Holly Springs with her husband and two daughters. As a mother herself, Stephanie realizes the vital importance of prenatal and postpartum education. Her desire is to empower and prepare families for the birth of their baby and how to transition into the postpartum period smoothly. Stephanie is delighted to be a part of the Nurtured Nest team and looks forward to helping women during one of the most monumental times of their lives. 
Margaret Marsden Fryer, MSN, CNM, IBCLC
Margaret is a Nurse-Midwife of 25 years, a mother of three, and a certified Lactation Specialist. She is thrilled to join the team at The Nurtured Nest, offering women in the Triangle additional support and resources during this important time of pregnancy, childbearing and early mothering time.

She was educated at Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After five years working in the hospital as a Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, and Labor and Delivery Nurse, she obtained her Masters in Nursing (Midwifery) at Oregon Health Sciences University. She has worked as a midwife in many settings in community health, in private practice, in a birthing center, and most recently as a hospital based Nurse-Midwife.

Margaret is passionate about many aspects of her work: providing bedside labor support, assisting new mothers with breastfeeding, and, as she has a special interest in Perinatal Mood issues addressing the needs of women struggling with anxiety and depression or previous traumatic births. She thrives on educating women about their health, and assisting them in developing a vision of their birth that is safe and family focused.

Margaret is married to Jeff, and is the proud mother of three young adults (two who were born at home). When she is not delivering prenatal care or babies, she enjoys running, reading novels, drinking fine wine, theatrical productions, and digging in the garden. She is a member of Hope Community Church.
